Safer spice - food safety and market access for peppercorn

CABI in discussion with Dr Hoa, the National Project Coordinator, Vietnam has shortlisted a few peppercorn companies in Vietnam for online meetings with the purpose of introducing the project and inviting them to participate in the PGS project on peppercorn.
Three companies i.e. Harris Freeman, Simexco and An Phong accepted the invitation and joined the meeting. Through separate meetings with each company, both the project team and company representatives briefed on their project activities on peppercorn and the challenges they are facing.

The project team presented the benefits and the Company’s roles if they join the project. All three companies showed interest to participate in the project.

The meetings with stakeholders are consolidated and summarized as below:

  • Project team and Simexco, 9th June 2021
  • Project team and An Phong, 10th June 2021
The main points discussed were introduction of each company's activities, introduction of the project and PGS model by CABI and PGS consultants, issues related to the company's role in project implementation and benefits when participating in the project.
