Trip to visit Vietpepper Company, Vietnam

Ms. Kim (CABI), Mr. Hoa and Mr. Chung (WASI), Ms. Hang, Ms. Suong and Ms. Nhung (PPD Xuyen Moc) visited and worked with Vietpepper Company
Kim introduced PPD Xuyen Moc and the purpose of visiting the factory and briefed on the project activities involving PPD Xuyen Moc and Vietpepper.

Dr. Hoa presented the action plan of the project activities that will involve PPD Xuyen Moc and chose five (5) farmer households to pilot CoP and PGS in Xuyen Moc. He also established one (1) farmer group in Dak Lak. He suggested Vietpepper to join the project as well.

For PPD Xuyen Moc staffs, this is their first visit to the Vietpepper factory. They asked Vietpepper company some questions about how they collect peppercorn from farmers, what standard of product they require, and what benefits do farmers get when working with them. PPD staff will help organise farmer groups in Xuyen Moc and this information will be passed on to the farmers.

Vietpepper company responded to the questions raised and provided the necessary information. They agreed to cooperate and are happy to participate in the project. They also agreed to cooperate with WASI to train in CoP and PGS, purchase safe pepper products for five (5) farmers in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
