The workshop provided a review on the PGS activities and training in the country
The workshop aims to review PGS activities and training by coming up with questions that link with farming practices, understanding practices in pepper farms, conducting group discussions on crop calendars, SWOT analysis, risks and non-compliance and finding out the key outputs for each topic, clarifying outcomes of PGS training delivered, and documentation support for farmers by GDA (CoP interpretation guide, national policy on pesticide, PGS field checklist).

  • Farmer to farmer sharing (business management, pruning, irrigation)
  • Planning and monitoring (calendars)
  • Audits and recommendations bBaseline, learning tool, compliance, dealing with non-compliance
Trip conclusions:
Finished stage 3 of PGS training, created PGS field checklist based on CoP and assignment with GDA, Sela Pepper company staffs and farmers to find out which kind of activities should be included, checklist field tested in the farms, how to perform audits in the farm, come up with ideas to create rules and regulations for the PGS group in Memot province, and completed stage 3 PGS champion training program in Cambodia with GDA staffs.
