Meetings with consultants, enlisting value chain actors in the peppercorn industry, and public consultation with GCP
Date: Feb - Apr 2021
Meetings were held with PGS consultants, engagement sessions with value chain actors in Vietnam and updates on GCP baseline coffee code.
There were online meetings held with international and national PGS consultants to discuss key terms of reference and outline plans, timing of activities given the Covid-19 restrictions and planning of workshop for partners. Engagement sessions were held with these identified companies in Vietnam:
  • Harris Freeman
  • Simexco, Dak Lak
  • An Phong, Dak Lak
  • Tonkin
  • Olam

Value chain actors

The National PGS consultant and CABI coordinator also plan to meet with the new Vietnam Peppercorn Association (VPA) Director to provide him with the background to our previous engagement and collaboration.

Global Coffee Platform

CABI's value chain expert attended a meeting hosted by Global Coffee Platform to identify any key areas where the planned peppercorn code of practice could align, to avoid contradiction, and identify overlaps. The Global Coffee Platform (GCP) updated their baseline coffee code, and hosted a public consultation to present their updates, and to seek feedback from users of the code.
