Non-chemical control

  • Control leafminers by natural enemies. Conserve parasitic wasps such as Diglypus spp
  • Regularly plough the farm. This exposes the pupae, so that they burn in the sun and get noticed by some other insects that will eat them
  • Use yellow sticky traps or yellow basins filled with water to trap the adults
  • Uproot and destroy infected old crop debris and practice crop rotation
